Nutritional Beliefs

 

   When selecting a childcare provider it is important to consider their overall nutrition program. Healthy eating is essential for kids because proper nutrition helps prevent illness and disease, and affects a child's growth, development, and learning. Naturally, it’s difficult for kids to make the healthiest food choices on their own. As your childcare provider I will help educate your kids on what to eat, why to eat it, and how to make the best meal choices. It’s all about introducing our kids to new foods and helping them choose foods that are going to make their bodies feel good and be their healthiest. Exercising and eating the right foods will promote a better quality of life because when kids feel good physically, they’re able to take part in the activities they enjoy. And when kids have proper nutrition they generally receive higher grades because it creates a sense of well-being and increases mental clarity.

 

   The keys to achieving wellness through nutrition include communication, guidance, and support. I communicate with the kids about dietary expectations by providing them with the right nutritional choices. I also allow them to become active participants in choosing the right foods by going grocery shopping together or letting them help me prepare healthy meals. I guide and support them by teaching them about the various food groups, the food pyramid, how to read food labels, and the role food plays in their health. Kids who understand the differences between nutritious and unhealthy foods become motivated to make wise choices that will follow them into adulthood and create a lifetime of lasting health and overall wellness.

 

   All of the meals I prepare are homemade and I only buy the highest quality, organic ingredients for my baking. I use 100% all-natural foods and I never use unhealthy additives in my homemade meals. My goal is to provide my daycare children with fully balanced meals and snacks to ensure that they receive the nutrients necessary for normal growth and development.
