As a parent, I know it can be hard to leave your child with someone else. 

As a provider, I take pride in being your child's "home away from home".

I strive to provide a safe, loving, fun environment for your child; while   encouraging independence and positive interaction with others.

If you are interested in enrolling your child, please thoroughly review the following information in regards to my rules as your caregiver. By signing the childcare consent form, you acknowledge that all childcare policies and procedures are understood and agreed upon. Thanks so much! 





Childcare is available on a "Pay-As-You-Go" system. This means there are no enrollment fees, set weekly rates, or any other additional fees. You will only pay for the days and times that you reserve, whether that is one day a week, or one day a month. When you are ready to schedule your childcare services, you will be required to pay in advance for the dates and times you will need childcare. Your child's spot will not be saved until your payment has been received in full. 





Reservations are available on a first come, first serve basis. I am available on-call and last minute, but busy times fill up fast. If there is a specific date or work requirement that you know you will need childcare for, I suggest booking those dates in advance. Spots fill up fast and I can only be in one place at a time. So if I am already booked during your time of need, I will be forced to say “No” to any incoming requests for childcare. 

Once a spot is reserved, there will be no refunds given for any reason. If you cancel, you will forfeit your advance payment. This helps me avoid flaky clients who will reserve space they don't use, making those days unavailable to others and causing me to lose money. This policy helps me keep my open spots to a minimum and allows me to focus more on being the best provider I can be, instead of worrying about “the bills” and putting food on the table.

As strong as my immune system has become over the years, I unfortunately still get sick from time to time. Because of this I allow myself five sick/personal days per year. I also use these days for continuing education classes (CPR, Pediatric First Aid, etc.) in order to keep my license in good standing. Of course I will give you as much advance notice as possible if I am sick or need to take a day off.





I allow myself two weeks of vacation per year. I will usually take off spring break and one week during the summer. I will give you at least two-week’s notice of my vacation dates. 


Note: Parents are responsible for finding back-up childcare for their children during provider vacations, holidays, and sick/personal days resulting in the childcare provider being unavailable.




With all childcare services, payment will be due in advance, at the time of scheduling/ booking. Once payment is received for the date/times you request, it will then be reserved for your child. Care is provided on a first come, first serve basis, and no days will be booked for anyone until payment for said day is received in full. This includes all current and new clients, recurring services, and drop-in care. 

Childcare spots fill up fast during busy times. You can book weeks in advance or call same day to see if I'm available. If you have an important date you know you will need, such as a work requirement, wedding, etc., then you may want to schedule your childcare in advance. 

It must be understood that your child's spot is not held until payment is received in full. After you call to reserve your days I will send you a detailed invoice and receipt. You will need to pay your invoice before the day is saved for you. Invoices can be paid with any major credit card, debit card, or PayPal account. If you prefer to pay with cash, that's fine too, but any cash payments will still need to be dropped off in advance to reserve your day.

Once childcare is booked, no refunds or discounts will be given for any reason. This includes the child being sick, weather related issues, or anything else. If you cancel or decide not to use your reserved days for any reason, you will forfeit your advance payment. This ensures that clients don't reserve days just to cancel later when it is no longer convenient, or cancel last minute when other clients could have taken their spot. It also helps me keep my open days to a minimum and ensures that I make a livable wage to support my daughters.

Please let me know if there are days when you will be early or late, so that I am not waiting around or wondering when you will return home. When you are reserving childcare services, make sure that you book as many hours as you think you will need. If you are unsure, it is always better to book a little extra time, verses not enough, if there is a possibility that you may be returning later.

Sometimes I may not be able to add time or stay late at the last minute because I may have another client that I need to get to when I leave your house. Parents need to be home at our agreed upon time, which is the time you reserved and paid for. Parents who are continuously late or flaky will be dropped as clients. Thank you for understanding.





For the health of your child and myself, please do not schedule your child to receive my services when they are sick. I may then become sick, making it difficult to care for any of the children in my care. I can only care for children with mild cold-like symptoms that are otherwise feeling and acting well. Mild cold-like symptoms are clear runny nose, slight cough, or a "slight-to-none" fever.


If you are not sure if your child is okay for daycare, then please call me and check. If your child becomes ill during provider hours, the parents will be contacted to come home and be with their child. If notified, parents need to return home as soon as possible. If parents are not available, the emergency contact person will be called.


Note: Once a child is excluded from daycare due to illness, they may not use my services again until symptoms requiring removal are no longer present. The child must also be free of any contagious disease (unless accompanied by a doctor's note stating that the illness is no longer contagious). Before you ask me to return, please make sure that your child is feeling well enough to participate in their daily activities.


Guidelines requiring exclusion from daycare:

A child with any of the following illnesses must be completely free of all symptoms before I will return to providing their care. If the child is taking antibiotics for an illness, the child may begin using daycare after the initial 24-hours of starting antibiotics, as long as they have only a slight fever (or none at all), is no longer contagious, and is otherwise feeling well.


Signs of illness requiring exclusion include:

* Unusual lethargy, irritability, persistent crying, flu

* Runny nose, bad cough, difficulty breathing, Strep

* Diarrhea, vomiting, chicken pox, measles, mumps

* Rash (Doctor's note stating rash is not contagious)

* Pink eye, hepatitis, impetigo, lice, ringworm, scabies

* Tuberculosis, shingles, sores, or any other contagious disease, illness, or rash


Any child with a fever of 100+ degrees may not use daycare services. A fever is your body’s natural way of trying to protect itself against whatever virus or bacteria is attacking it and is an indicator that the child is sick and possibly contagious, therefore requiring exclusion from childcare services.


Note: State law requires that I notify parents of children who have been exposed to certain contagious diseases. Please notify me if your child becomes infected, so that I may notify my other daycare clients.





If your child will not be needing their scheduled daycare due to illness or any other reason, please let me know as soon as possible so that I do not show up at your house anyways. It also helps to know how many children I will be caring for each day. No refunds will be given for your child's absences due to illness, vacation, or any other reason. If your child will no longer be needing their scheduled time spot for any reason, you are still required to pay for your reservation, and no refund will be given.





I am required by law to report any suspected incidents of possible child abuse or neglect. Your 

child can be questioned by child protective services 

at any time.





Emergency contact information is always kept on me while I am working, in case of any emergencies. In case of illness or injury this information will be used to notify you (or the person designated by you), of your child's status. If your child is injured while in my care, first aid will be administered. If treatment by a doctor is necessary, I will make every effort to contact you or the doctor you have chosen to treat your child.


Authorization for emergency treatment must be signed at the time of enrollment to ensure that in the event of an emergency, I can make sure your child receives the necessary emergency treatment he or she needs. It is very important that all emergency contact information is kept up to date and correct. Please inform me immediately of any changes in order to keep your information up-to-date. Parents are responsible for all costs involved in emergency medical treatment or emergency transportation, if required.


Note: In case of a serious accident or sudden illness requiring immediate medical attention, the following procedures will be followed:


1. A phone call to 911 is made.

2. Child's parents (or emergency contacts) are called.

3. Child's needs are cared for appropriately.

4. Parent, provider, or ambulance takes child to hospital if needed.





I believe that the discipline of a child is achieved through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. I also try to teach the children manners, kindness, and to be respectful to others. One of the ways in which I do this is by the example I set as a provider. I understand that my actions and reactions speak louder than my words.


The children are explained the rules frequently, so they know what is expected of them. Once a child is old enough to understand the rules but still disobeys them (hitting, aggression, hurting others, damaging property, etc.), the following developmentally appropriate guidance techniques will be used:


1. Positive Reinforcement: Your child will be encouraged when he or she is demonstrating acceptable behavior.


2. Redirection: Your child is redirected to another activity and given an opportunity to try again at another time.


3. Time-Out: Your child is placed in time-out for an age-appropriate amount of time (one minute per one year of age). This technique is only used when a child repeatedly will not follow directions or listen to my words, is exhibiting temper-tantrum type behavior, or is hurting themselves, others, or property. When the child shows that he or she is ready to demonstrate acceptable behavior, they are encouraged to rejoin the group and try again.


4. Last Resort: When a child's behavior is continually upsetting or dangerous to others, a conference will be called with the parents. If the problem cannot be resolved, arrangements will have to be made for the child to use a different childcare service.


Note: Sometimes if both parent and provider are in the same area, a child may forget the rules or test their boundaries. Please help show your child that you respect me by reminding them that the rules still apply when you are around. I will also remind them of the rules and correct them if needed.





No one other than the parent (or person designated

by the parent) will be allowed to pick up the child without advanced written notice indicating the person's name and relationship to the child. If there is a court order keeping one parent away from the child, I must have a written note from the custodial parent on file to that effect. Otherwise, I cannot prevent the non-custodial parent from picking up their child.





Parents are responsible for stocking their home with the followingdiapers/pull-ups, wipes, diaper cream, sunscreen, weather appropriate clothes and a change of clothes, coat, shoes, and a swimsuit. I apply sunscreen every day to any child playing in the sun.


There is a good possibility your child will get dirty throughout their day because of food, paint, markers, dirt, bubbles, etc. Please dress your child accordingly for play. I am not responsible for replacing stained or soiled clothing. I greatly appreciate your adherence to this subject, as it helps me to care for your child in the best way possible. It also makes your child's day run more smoothly when they have everything they need at home.




I prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks throughout the day. Please let me know if your child has any food allergies. For infants, parents will need to supply baby food and formula/ bottles. Children are offered their food, but they will not be forced to eat. It is my goal to offer nutritious meals and snacks to all of the children in my care, as nutrition is a vital part of a child's health.


Children need to eat well-balanced meals in order to meet their daily energy needs and help them build a strong body and mind. I know that the food habits a child develops while they are young will help them prevent cavities, iron deficiency, anemia, and obesity- all common nutritional problems in young children.





If your child has any special dietary needs (resulting from being a vegan, having allergies, religious beliefs, etc.) then I must be informed. Certain meals and different types of food can usually be substituted in order to still fulfill your child’s dietary needs. 





In order for me to provide the best childcare possible, please feel free to communicate any needs, wants, or concerns regarding your child. It is only through good parent/provider interaction that quality, nurturing care can be achieved.





It is important that you feel comfortable with my policies and procedures. If you do not understand something, have a concern, or you feel uncomfortable with one of my rules, it is important that you express that to me before enrolling your child or using my daycare services. I am always open to suggestions and good communication is a very important part of 

a parent and provider relationship.


If any problems or concerns arise in the future, I encourage you to talk to me about them. If a long discussion is needed, a time that is convenient for both of us will be scheduled. If you would like to place your child with The Nanny Extraordinaire, please print and complete the following emergency consent form prior to your child's first day of care. Your child's spot will not be held, and you will not be able to begin using childcare services, until I receive your completed consent form.

I feel that it is important for you to feel comfortable with my policies and procedures. If you do not understand something, have a concern, or you feel uncomfortable with one of my policies, it is important that you express that to me before enrolling your child in my daycare. I am always open to suggestions and I feel communication is a very important part of a quality daycare. If there are any problems or concerns in the future, I encourage you to talk to me about them. If a long discussion is needed, a time that is convenient for both of us will be scheduled. 

NOTE: By signing your consent form, you are acknowledging that all of the Policies and Procedures of
